anyone have any linux distro suggestions? I want to give it a go again

also anyone have any suggestions for content management scripts? i used to use cutephp/cutenews way back in the day, but that shit isn't exactly secure. hell even just going to the website itself throws a safety warning in firefox. i really dont even need the content management part, moreso a comment section for stuff like journal entries and whatever.
